False positive. Bitdefender Internet Security (2014)

When I try to download the Windows exe by clicking on the link http://youtube-dl.org/downloads/2013.08.15/youtube-dl.exe, Bitdefender blocks my efforts and shows that the page isn't safe and was blocked by Bitdefender anti-malware filter.

I disabled Bitdefender Trafficlight temporarily and downloaded the EXE. Scanning it with Bitdefender showed that it does not contain any malware. Then, it should not have blocked the URI. I have downloaded many EXE files by entering URIs that are direct download link for the EXE, but Bitdefender doesn't block them. Maybe, the URI you ar e using is either on a blacklist or NOT on a whitelist. Look into this.

Thanks for the report; for further reference, here is the report. Where did you see the URL http://youtube-dl.org/ ? We should be using https://yt-dl.org/ now - it's secured via HTTPS and not blacklisted despite being on the same server. I'll contact Bitdefender and see why our domain should contain malware.
