Youtube-dl has an extractor for the Weather Channel, however some videos on the site are not detected as supported and default to the generic extractor and fail to download.

Some? I can't get any of them to work. I can manually copy the URLs in the source code, do a search-and-replace to replace the Unicode sequences \u002F with /, and download them, but youtube-dl doesn't work. Maybe I'll look into seeing if I can get it working, because not being able to just provide youtube-dl with the URL and have it work its magic is kinda annoying.

At the time (Over 2 years ago), I was able to get some to download. I havan't tried since then.
