Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2017.06.12. If it's not read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2017.06.12

Before submitting an issue make sure you have:

Hi rmetzler,

Does this URL actually feature a video that can be downloaded? I believe the JSON metadata is missing because this page does not reference any video.

Dear @rmetzler indeed doesnt have any video links,this is a german online newspaper(e-paper) .So dump json wont work either.If you just wanted to save the page you could simple press ctrl+s but I dont think that was your purpose to do so. This page though servers lots of images as news feed which i dont suppose youtube-dl supports(web crawling for media).You can use wget or curl to do so
