Hi all,

A bit of a noob to Youtube dl but learning a lot already.

I'm having an issue changing the output directory for youtube dl downloads.

I'm trying to save videos to an external USB 3 drive where my iTunes library is saved.

My intention is to be able to save the videos in the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder, so they become part of my iTunes library and sync automatically to my iPad.

When I use the -o option to save to the external drive: ie /WD 4GB Media/iTunes/iTunes Media/Automatically add to iTunes.localized/%(title)s.%(ext)s', the files are saving but in a new directory under Macintosh HD with the same name. Ie Macintosh HD/Volumes/WD 4GB Media/iTunes/iTunes Media/Automatically add to iTunes.localized/%(title)s.%(ext)s

It's like terminal or youtube dl (I'm not sure which is the problem) is taking the name/path I'm directing it to, mirroring it under Macintosh HD and saving the files there, instead of the actual external drive's directory.

Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Do you user Terminal.app?

If you try cd /your/target/path, does it work, i.e. you actually end up in the desired directory?
