Run youtube-dl 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nkPv5RHkVH0'(pay attention to the '), the & is a special character in the shell so it must be escaped.
I'm closing this since this is probably the reason why it fails, if the problem persists comment there and we'll repoen it.

Thanks very much!  It works just fine.
I should know better, but I never paid much attention to the YouTube
URLs - just copied and pasted them.  I'll just use the quotes all
the time.
