Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2017.12.02. If it's not, read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2017.12.02

Before submitting an issue make sure you have:

  • At least skimmed through the README, most notably the FAQ and BUGS sections
  • Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones

What is the purpose of your issue?

  • Bug report (encountered problems with youtube-dl)
  • Site support request (request for adding support for a new site)
  • Feature request (request for a new functionality)
  • Question
  • Other

as I looking through about how to filter live stream to avoid partial download by youtube-dl,
the result is only pop up here on github #12946

I think is_live flag is worth to mention in document to avoid any further question about it on issue list,

although I can checkout the source then do a pull req. but is_live is a boolean, which make me hesitate about where and how should I properly write the description, so probably someone else can make a better job on this as I am not native english speaker.
