Hi,

on windows i had a problem with downloading and playing simultaniusly. Maybe you could build in some substitution for moving files that are opened (like copy them and spawn a thread that would delete them after they are closed).

But at least you should fix the "Unable to resume"-bug that forced to download a whole video again on my narrow line just because a finished but not renamed file cant be resumed (???)

Inability to rename a file blocked by another process has nothing to do with youtube-dl.
