Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2017.12.02. If it's not, read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2017.12.02

Description of your issue, suggested solution and other information

I tried to download a udemy course. however for some videos, I get above error. The same issue was reported earlier by other users, but those issues were closed indicating that the issue is resolved in the latest release.
However I'm using the latest version and I'm still getting this error.
