I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2018.03.20
At least skimmed through the README, most notably the FAQ and BUGS sections
Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones
Checked that provided video/audio/playlist URLs (if any) are alive and playable in a browser
When downloading songs from Soundcloud while running youtube-dl on Python 2 (installed with python-pip on Debian 9), I get the log below.

After installing the Python 3 version (with python3-pip), it works as intended.

I found this bug report, that suggests that you no longer support Python2. Is this true?
