### Description of your *issue*, suggested solution and other information

I have updated ffmpeg to the latest stable release FFmpeg 4.0 "Wu" only to find out that youtube-dl hangups when I try to download an HLS stream. The following is the log with the previous stable release FFmpeg 3.4.2 "Cantor". So, it seems youtube-dl hangups when it is about to open the stream.
