<end of log>

It says on "https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html" that imdb.com is supported, but youtube-dl won't download movie trailers from these websites, "https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5232792/?ref_=nv_sr_1", and "https://www.imdb.com/videoplayer/vi539015193?ref_=ttvi_vi_imdb_2", so how do I download those videos with youtube-dl? Thanks.

youtube-dl is a great program, because it has lots of features, and usually downloads videos reliably from a variety of websites in a wide range of formats, but on "https://www.imdb.com/videoplayer/vi539015193?ref_=ttvi_vi_imdb_2" which is a page that has a specific movie trailer, it doesn't seem to be able to download the video, but the video plays fine in browsers, and other programs and browser add-ons can download it fine as well. Is youtube-dl having trouble downloading it, because it doesn't have the correct download url, and if so, how can an average user know how to find the correct download url for videos on different websites, if they put the url for the page where the videos play properly, and youtube-dl doesn't download them, shouldn't youtube-dl be able to automatically find the correct download url for a video if given the url for the page where the video is? Is there a way to fix that? Thanks.

avconv built without https support. Either fix or use ffmpeg.

Is avconv a program like ffmpeg? I'd like to download the trailer from "https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5232792/?ref_=nv_sr_1", and "https://www.imdb.com/videoplayer/vi539015193?ref_=ttvi_vi_imdb_2" and it says on "https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html" that youtube-dl can download videos from imdb pages, so if avconv isn't compatible with https, then could you please tell me how to use ffmpeg with youtube-dl to download the trailer from those pages? Thanks.

You didn't post any response on this post, so where else did you post a response? I didn't post any duplicates, I posted other posts though about similar issues, so maybe you're getting those confused with this post. Thanks.

Yes he did. He wrote "avconv built without https support. Either fix or use ffmpeg". That's what you should do.
Maybe you don't know how to do it, but this isn't general computer help forum, so you should seek help somewhere else.

"avconv built without https support. Either fix or use ffmpeg"

It says right on "youtube-dl: Supported sites - GitHub Pages", "https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html", that "imdb: Internet Movie Database trailers" and "imdb:list: Internet Movie Database lists" are supported by youtube-dl, so how how are they supported if youtube-dl can't download them automatically, and how do you expect average computer users who use youtube-dl to know how what "avconv built without https support. Either fix or use ffmpeg" means or how to do that unless you take a bit of time to explain it or include it in some help documentation. Don't you want more people to use youtube-dl and enjoy using it? If so, why aren't you helping them figure out how to get it working properly, and for that matter, why isn't youtube-dl offered as a GUI by the original software developer? It's probably time to throw out the copy of MS-DOS you're still using and join the 21st century. Also, you should fix youtube-dl so that it just works properly with imdb.com trailers in the first place, instead of whining and complaining when people try to politely ask you for help with it. Thanks.
