Live Stream Support for MTV, Comedy Central, Discovery [Request]

Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2018.06.11. If it's not, read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

If the purpose of this issue is a site support request please provide all kinds of example URLs support for which should be included (replace following example URLs by yours):

http://www.cc.com/live-tv
https://www.discovery.com/watch/discovery

Note that youtube-dl does not support sites dedicated to copyright infringement. In order for site support request to be accepted all provided example URLs should not violate any copyrights.

Description of your issue, suggested solution and other information

MTV, Comedy Central, ABC and many other plugins seem not to support live stream functionality despite youtube-dl adobe pass script. By monitoring the connections made with plugins such as Comedy Central, I can see that the process to get a VOD url and live stream URL are very similiar, if not identical.

In addition to this being useful for Comedy Central, MTV, ABC.... there are numerous other TV networks who use the exact same configuration. This means that one script could be written and it be applied to many other plugins, simply by substituting the other networks urls. Unfortunately my knowledge is limited.

Currently, when inputting live tv pages for these channels, it appears that youtube-dl simply downloads the webpage.

Note** I believe MTV and Comedy Central both have 10 minute free previews. I get the same result when invoking adobe pass with credentials, or without.
