Add windows chocolatey package manger install instructions for youtube-dl. #16720

Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2018.06.11. If it's not, read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2018.06.11

Before submitting an issue make sure you have:

  • At least skimmed through the README, most notably the FAQ and BUGS sections
  • Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones
  • Checked that provided video/audio/playlist URLs (if any) are alive and playable in a browser

Chocolatey the package manager for windows, has a package for youtube-dl and it is maintained by purity and chocolatey.

I don't see any point in that since official exe is provided.

It automatically adds the program to path, and makes it easy to update.

I don't see any point in that since official exe is provided.

It's an extra step which can just be made a dependency: https://chocolatey.org/packages/vcredist2010

And, as @mariomills says. The package can add itself to PATH.

Just seems weird providing a brew package and not a choco one. Why not just provide a .app?

Please reconsider.
