ITV/ITV4 <=> ITV Hub apparently use geo-restriction on youtube-dl #16848
Comments
It's geo restricted now. |
The code of Youtube-dl will be modified or not ? |
Modified for what? |
To work like it was until the last week. |
Again: it's a true geo restriction now. It can't by bypassed. |
what is the difference now <=> "true geo restriction" ? |
This is, in essence, a duplicate of #15925; the ITVHub people have killed the legacy API that used to provide non-geofenced RTMPE streams (for some of their offerings, mostly older stuff) and that change was the root cause of #16780); overseas users are now confronted with the "predicament" I talked about in #15925 (comment), having to resort to full-blown geo-location spoofing methods |
