  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2018.07.21

  • I've at least skimmed through the README, most notably the FAQ and BUGS sections

  • Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones

  • Checked that provided video/audio/playlist URLs (if any) are alive and playable in a browser

What is the purpose of your issue?

  • Bug report (encountered problems with youtube-dl)
  • Site support request (request for adding support for a new site)
  • Feature request (request for a new functionality)
  • Question
  • Other

Description of your issue, suggested solution and other information

I'm getting a 401: Unauthorized error when I try to download a password-protected video on livestream.com, even though I've specified the correct password using the --video-password flag. I'm able to view the video in a browser without signing in, and by using the same password mentioned.

You can reproduce this issue with this video in a browser: http://livestream.com/blueroomstream/events/8251962/videos/176501281 using this password: experience

Or on the command line:
youtube-dl http://livestream.com/blueroomstream/events/8251962/videos/176501281 --video-password experience --verbose

I cannot provide a link with password as my source is copyrighted and we need a premium account to publish a video with a password.
