Hello there,

Great program, very awesome. Thank you.

So, I am here to request a new feature for youtube-dl and thats to detect the highhest possible bitrate in audio (which the program can ready do using "youtube -f ") or if you disagree with this way of deciding on quality, and you don't like this idea, then at least allow yourself to create the feature option "youtube-dl --highest-possible-bitrate". That's how I base my audio and mp3's quality on so this qould be just great.

Hope you can do this sometime soon. Thanks you so much for your time and for the fantastic amazing useful program. Take care! Talk to ya sometime...

Best regards,
Anonymous X

Add --audio-quality 0 and you'll get what you want.

You could also try to use the built-in manual: youtube-dl --help

@degski: That's not what @anonyxuser1 is asking for. He wants to to have youtube-dl identify the highest-bitrate source available on YouTube and then download that.

The command option you gave will just set maximum bitrate if re-encoding the audio.
