I've installed yt-dl 2018.08.22 and used it with the --extract-audio option; however, even after installing ffmpeg, I still get the error "ERROR: ffprobe or avprobe not found. Please install one.".

I know the help says that for --extract-audio to work, "ffmpeg or avconv and ffprobe or avprobe" need to be installed. However, I could only find Windows installers for ffmpeg.

Can anyone suggest what I else I need to do to make --extract-audio work? Thanks!

It clearly tells you to install ffprobe not ffmpeg.

That's true, but upon googling for ffprobe windows, the page of ffmpeg is returned..

This page has all the binary files you need:
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/

Please, for the love of god, don't use some sketchy ffmpeg "installer" from some sketchy 3rd-party site.

That's the site I used. I got it to work now by copying the contents of the Bin directory to the directory where youtube-dl.exe is located.

Thanks HRXN and Sergey and sorry if my post was not properly edited.

This is how it's supposed to be done... Put the bins next to the youtube-dl exe file or somewhere in your PATH.
