  • I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2018.09.01
  • At least skimmed through the README, most notably the FAQ and BUGS sections
  • Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones
  • Checked that provided video/audio/playlist URLs (if any) are alive and playable in a browser

What is the purpose of this issue?

  • Bug report

Description of the issue, suggested solution and other information

Description of the issue

The video is available in 1080p on YouTube, but the downloaded file is in 720p. Passing option -f (as suggested in the readme) gives the error ERROR: requested format not available

Suggested solution

Have no idea.

Other information

Just a side note: I removed my ip address from the verbose output, hope it is not mandatory for triaging the issue.

Whoops, sorry. Actually my ffmpeg was installed, but it wasn't in PATH.

Thanks!
