Description of your issue, suggested solution and other information

If a single song in an album is paid (in this case, it's likely a mistake; I'll try to contact the publisher), then youtube-dl will immediately stop downloading with a non-zero exit code, with an error message saying that it is a bug. This is clearly not a bug, based on the online album page. I would expect it to at least give a more clear error message, preferably mentioning the -i flag.

This is expected behavior in case of any error.
