problem with running youtube-dl in windows #1995

youtube-dl is a command-line application. Open a cmd prompt and then run it from there. By the way, the Windows exe build doesn't require any version of Python; it comes with its own. |

I just downloaded windows exe version and when i try to install, a cmd prompt comes and just disappears. I have python 2.7 running in my laptop. What might be wrong?
