Description

Any time I attempt to open any file downloaded through youtube-dl with either VLC or quicktime, it says that the codec is unsupported. This is irrelevant of what format it merges into and whether it is an audio or video file.

(And the link was just the first one on my youtube recommended lol)

Any time I attempt to open any file downloaded through youtube-dl with either VLC or quicktime, it says that the codec is unsupported. This is irrelevant of what format it merges into and whether it is an audio or video file.

This means that it's probably an issue on your end, not with youtube-dl. To make sure, you could share one of the broken files.

Hmm. It seems to be only certain videos. This video, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDLiBvIkBSE&t=29s) works correctly, but this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B3gCHbDu94) leads to a broken file every time.

EDIT: The audio version works correctly now but the video does not.
