--playlist-items only retrieves the latest 5 videos on specific channel

I am trying to download the n latest videos (n=30, say) on the channel

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHj_-zyuJ_pJMtWvXXoPwYA

The problem is that the --playlist-items option doesn't see anything past the first (latest) 5 videos. The above output was produced by

youtube-dl https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHj_-zyuJ_pJMtWvXXoPwYA --playlist-items 6 -v

No videos were downloaded, even though the 'videos' front page of the channel features 10 videos (with more on subsequent pages). The older videos are downloadable if passed as URLs to youtube-dl.

--dateafter fails similarly: if I pass a date far in the past (I've tried 20190101) so that the date range covers numerous videos, only the first (latest) 5 are downloaded.
