This would be easy to fix with python-mutagen - would you be willing to accept a patch to fix this?

If you use the --add-metadata, some info should be added to the file, could you test it?

Ah, there we go. I'd suggest that --add-metadata be the default with -x, but that's just me. Thanks!

Not a bad idea, users would have ffmpeg/avconv installed and it's a fast process. Open a new issue (or I could reopen this one and change the title) with the request or submit a PR implementing it.

I didn't read your comment about searching issues. You can use the text field on the top of the page

and then select Issues on the left.
