They use brightcove (with a lot of buggy code), but there doesn't seem to be a content video there.

Oh, sorry, I had that in the back of my mind, but forgot: The URL indicates the advertisement is the point of this video. We'll need to add support for downloading the advertisement then.

In youtube-dl 2014.01.22 and newer, you can download these videos (apparently not from the US, for whatever reason, but works fine from Europe) with

youtube-dl -U  # Update youtube-dl (once)
youtube-dl http://salesdemo.ad-samples.com/vla/asset/demo/8114_194528/index.html --include-ads

tried
youtube-dl -g --verbose http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/31403/static-vast-xml-tag/ --include-ads

However, this lists out only one asset
http://content.bitsontherun.com/videos/bkaovAYt-kNspJqnJ.mp4
The ad in the beginning is not listed.
