First I have a desktop Gateway pc with internet explorer 11 , win7.

  1. After initially starting the pc, I download youtube. It works.
  2. Then I start up internet explorer and try to download other youtube links. It now doesn’t work.
  3. I end out of explorer and try once again to download, it now works again.
  4. Now I start up explorer again and go to youtube and copy a URL.
  5. I end out of explorer and try to download youtube video, it doesn’t work. Not matter what I try after that, nothing will work.
  6. I power off the pc and restart. I repeat 1 thru 5, some results.

Are you sure the problem is related to Internet Explorer?

In any case, to diagnose the problem (or problems, if they are with multiple sites), please include the full output of youtube-dl when called with the -v option. Unfortunately, without this output, this report is akin to going to an auto mechanic without bringing the car - while we may able to guess (in your case, I'd guess dynamic proxy reconfiguration, malware, or firewalls), we can't be of much help.

the command works with winxp and win 2003 but doesn't work with win7 (sometime it works)

This precise command will always fail and never work, because youtube-dl simply does not support porn.com. Note the error message Unsupported URL, which means just that - youtube-dl does not have specific support for porn.com, and the generic extraction (which tries to guess) failed.

Yes, but I can't download youtube videos from china. So i replace it with porn.com . youtube-dl does support porn.com in the usa (tested on winxp and win2003) . I have no win 7 pc in the usa. I wrote a gui for youtube-dl.exe and someone tell me the things above. I have to test it with porn.com on my win7 pc. Sometime it works with porn.com and sometime not.

Another site is pornhd.com youtube-dl supports downloading the video links but doesn't support downloading the videos itself at pornhd.com .

@wangarong Please post the full output of youtube-dl when called with the -v option of the actual problem you're having. If your problem is unrelated to porn.com, please open a new issue and post the output there.
