  • I'm reporting a broken site support
  • I've verified that I'm running youtube-dl version 2019.09.28

Description

I am referring to the following issues:

#22589

for bug 22589 you say

Server side Youtube issue for format 22.

but -F shows that 'format 22 is available'. If this is again a server side error. My suggestions/requests:

  1. Could you please add some logic to 'youtube-dl' that it can gracefully degrade to download 'some' 'mp4' when passing '-f mp4' instead of the following error
ERROR: Did not get any data blocks
  1. I always assumed the -f mp4 will download any available MP4 format - starting from best-> medium->worst.
