I am trying to download a series of 10 shows that I paid for on Youtube. They are each approximately 45 min long. I have ffmpeg installed. I managed to start the download using the --cookies option. Everything seems to run as it should from there. However, only the first 10 seconds of the resulting mp4 files will play, after which the playback freezes. I have tried different media players and the same thing happens. I have also tried another download program and the result seems to be the same. Is Youtube doing something clever to prevent captured files from being played? How do I go about diagnosing the problem?
