youtube-dl is intended as a client-side application that is used by services like flvcd.com. We are happy to add support for these services once URLs are mentioned, but it wouldn't be fair or sensible to rely on a centralized service for video extraction. |

Uh yes, it's a pity that such useful site isn't open-sourced, while youtube-dl is. I'm sure all sites aforementioned by flvcd will be added to youtube-dl's support list soon, and most users will keen on this open-source tool rather than the commercial company. Keep it up! |

As I hinted above, we may not even be aware that support is missing for some sites. So feel free to file issues for Chinese sites that lack support (just include the URL of a video, and not only the site name). |
