Description

This site used to work fine in the past, but I can't tell the time it started to break. Downloading videos does not work anymore.

@remitamine Strange, any idea why I am getting this?

@remitamine Just reproduced in a fresh install of Ubuntu 19.10 in a different network, 100% reproducible, what OS are you using?

Also reproduced with a VPN, using differnt german speaking countries.

@remitamine Any idea what I could try besides installing Arch?

Obviously, you don't have to use Arch Linux(and I don't think that if you did so the problem will disappear), youtube-dl is supposed to work in all operating systems supported by Python interpreter.
in order for developers to fix the problem, it has to be reproducible.

@remitamine Sent this to a colleague, he could reproduce it too, so there is definitely an issue here.
We came to the conclusion that this is broken at least since 2019.09.28. We had success using version 2019.03.18.

With the latest version it only works with --no-geo-bypass for both of us, we are both located in Austria.

Please consider reopening this issue.

it appears that this has been reported before in #22288.

Could you please reopen the mentioned bug then?

why keep two issues for the same problem open.

The default behavior is broken, so this should definitely be addressed or it should be suggested to try this option when this error occurs.

I know, I will push a fix, be patient.
