Description

When I tried to download this video, which appears to be set to "embed-only" - I get a 404 error for the metadata. When I tried a normal video (e.g. https://vimeo.com/113701130), I get a 403 error.

You must clearly demonstrate the issue. Warnings should not bother you at all.

The issue isn't the fact that it warns me that it hasn't downloaded the metadata - the issue is the fact that it isn't downloading the metadata!

I really don't understand what you mean @dstftw

Are you saying this is expected behaviour - there is no support for vimeo metadata?

Do you manage to read what is addressed to you? Once again: warnings should not bother you at all. There are multiple sources metadata is obtained from with multiple fallbacks. You must provide clear evidence that final info dict returned by yotube-dl does not contain metadata it is supposed to contain and if so clearly specify from where this metadata can be extracted.
