Description

Youtube-dl version 2020.03.01 can't get metadata from Raspbian 9 + Python 2.7.13 (see latest verbose log)

Command: youtube-dl -g --verbose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta7jv3n1Mt0

Same version of youtbe-dl is working properly with Raspbian 10 + Python 2.7.16 , the output is:

I don't understand why this issue is closed.

I recently posted same issue but @dstftw closed it, and I don't know why your post is set as duplicated if HTTP Error 429, in this case, is catched in a specific case only for Raspbian 9. Please @jeancc, take a look to the videos I attached where you can see the bug and tell me if we are talking about same case. Thanks

Same problem here! But @dstftw don't want to listen.

I think he is lookinf for ... "429 error" and automatically closed the issue. I see your videos and clearly demonstrates that there is NO problem with network or youtube.

Possible problem with python 2.7.13 ?

Tested with python 3, in my raspbian 9. Same problem.
