Description

When running youtube-dl, the progress output updates so quickly that it's not that useful, especially when first starting a download. If it updated more slowly, say, once every 1 or 2 seconds, reporting an average throughput and ETA over that time, it would be easier to get a sense of how fast it's downloading and how long it will take.

Here's a GIF demonstrating how quickly it updates currently. It actually looks a little slower in my browser than it does in the source video, so it's even more extreme than I'm presenting here:
