I took a look at the extractors to get a better understanding how the extractors work. Including the vk.com extractor.
In joomla related repos i found another link scheme which isn't supported by youtube-dl as far as i understand.
When a video from the social network is embedded it comes in an iframe with a URL like this:
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=32194266&id=162925554&hash=7d8c2e0d5e05aeaa&hd=1
So if a random site embeds it, yt-dl can't download the video?!
