This is the error that terminal returns, Python 2.7 as per suggestions:

/Users/DerVinterMond/Desktop/ImageGET 2014-03-05 at 1.34.50 AM.png

Directions for didn't specify node or servname to be specified, any help would be appreciated.

Image didn't display, here's the text:

raise URLError(err)
urllib2.URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 8] nodename nor servname provided, or not known>

Please, post the full verbose output of running youtube-dl --verbose YOUTUBE_LINK

Huh? Can you explain what your problem was? I'm guessing that you left out a part of the URL.

This is not a url to a website :

Oak, when I try to post the error in text, I get nothing but the above attempts. Running as verbose per Sergey's suggestion fixed the entire servname/nodename issue for some reason. I guess I misunderstood git's "drag and drop" image uploading as being from any source since it was not specified and I was given a file select dialog to look through.

To phil: The URL was entered in full, but the servname and nodename error showed up when youtube-dl ran without --verbose enabled.
