So, attached is the source of one of the paid-for pages on robcosman.com where the videos are available and playable. This is (I think) the relevant source: This displays the current video with a list of other videos in the series in a right-hand sidebar. If I enter one of the Vimeo embedded URLs into a browser, such as this one: I get essentially a 404 page: "Sorry, we couldn’t find that page". If I start youtube-dl with the same embedded URL with this command: Or this: Then this is the output: Can youtube-dl download these embedded Vimeo videos? |

Apparently no one is interested in this issue, commenting or helping or whatever so it may as well be closed. Ultimately I achieved the goal but by other means. |

Using iTerm 2 Build 3.3.6, cygwin/ssh to CentOS 7; results consistent across all execution methods (all same version of youtube-dl)
First: youtube-dl is a fabulous tool and I am grateful to all of the volunteers who have created it.
I have a paid subscription to Rob Cosman's woodworking videos. I would like to download them to watch when I am working away from home, as often I am without an internet connection even close to supporting streaming video.
Some URLs:
The freebie project videos download fine but the paid-for project videos do not.
So this command to download the freebie Lumber Rack video works as expected:
youtube-dl https://robcosman.com/blogs/membership/lumber-rackThis command to download the paid-for project series for the same Lumber Rack:

So the downloads work on the robcosman.com domain for one style of URLs (the freebies) but not the others (paid-for).
I was hoping to download the video archive before I next go away for work, which will be soon.
