Question

my youtube subscription feed is quite long, most of the stuff is years if not decades old. Youtube-dl appears to try and parse quite a big chunk of it before starting to download what i asked

(usually i tell it to check the last week of videos that have not been downloaded, your faq is, thankfully, one of the best written about this)

Is the time it takes a limitation of my PC, or does youtube-dl try and download the entire list of videos before realizing it has to download something like the 10 videos or so that have not been downloaded since last i ran it (usually something like "yesterday")?

this is just a curiosity, honestly.
