PeacockTV uses Widevine DRM, so it's unlikely that videos can be downloaded. Guess I'll have to go hard mode and use OBS.

People have downloaded A Brave New World somehow. To add, I get the same issue while passing cookies to youtube-dl.

People have downloaded A Brave New World somehow.

There aren't public methods of cracking Widevine DRM, but there are groups with private tools for doing it. If they made them public then it's possible for the DRM to be updated to block their exploits. And then of course there's the low-tech methods of just recording the content via various means(OBS, Capture Cards, etc).

For example, you see Netflix and Amazon rips on various sites all the time, but do you see them being supported by Youtube-DL? Both use Google's Widevine DRM, though Netflix also supports other DRM like Microsoft's PlayReady.

To add, I get the same issue while passing cookies to youtube-dl.

Well of course you would, the issue isn't your login, it's that Youtube-DL doesn't support the site.

I would like to see documentation on how we arrived that it's Widevine. Also the files have seen don't appear to be captures, there are too many additions to the mkv's.

It's pretty easy to figure out if a site is using Widevine. Open the site in Desktop Firefox and try to watch something. If a chain icon appears next to the padlock icon in the address bar it's using Widevine DRM(since that's the only DRM Firefox supports currently).
