Description

When I try downloading a live newscast using this command:

youtube-dl https://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/ssai/event/kKODf6quTASP0v4Zq1Zo_Q/master.m3u8

it works fine unless I start the download when it shows "We'll Be Right Back" on a blue background, which I assume is where commercials go. In that case, the video is fine, but there is no audio. I can reproduce this every time by watching the live newscast here:

and starting the download when the blue screen with the "We'll Be Right Back" message appears. Because I'm downloading this on a scheduled basis, I can't tell when that message appears. Is there a way to make this work?

Plays fine for me. You need to disable your adblocker (a fix will be added soon). It might be geolocked as well.

Does not play in browser for me.

It plays fine in the browser for me and it downloads fine, but as I stated, I get no audio in the downloaded file ONLY if I start the download when the video shows "We'll Be Right Back" on a blue background as shown in the attached screenshot. Definitely a bug.

I'm wondering if the problem is because there is no audio when the "We'll Be Right Back" is being displayed, so the audio is ignored and when audio resumes, it's not picked up?

I can't reproduce the same problem you have, for me when "We'll Be Right Back" is about to disappear the audio starts playing and when the video resumes, the audio/video continues playing but out of sync, anyway, this has nothing to do with youtube-dl, report the issue on the FFmpeg bug tracker.

So, you are able to download a file when the "We'll Be Right Back" is showing and you get audio? I get NO audio. Here is an example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x7l8lmxljelmej3/dl_No_Audio.mp4?dl=0
Not sure if it matters, but I'm doing this on a Mac.
