Hi,

Since about a week rtmpdump streams hosted on Canal+ servers all end in closed conection from server.

Here is a webpage with the flash player.
Here is the different streams one can test against.

The error is

[canalplus.fr] pid1830-c-zapping.html?vid=1054131: Downloading webpage
[canalplus.fr] 1054131: Downloading video info
[canalplus.fr] 1054131: Extracting information
[download] Destination: Zapping - 14_04_2014-1054131.flv
[rtmpdump] 0 bytes

ERROR: rtmpdump exited with code 1

Using rtmpdump by hand, I get:

(c) 2010 Andrej Stepanchuk, Howard Chu, The Flvstreamer Team; license: GPL
Connecting ...
INFO: Connected...
ERROR: rtmp server sent error
ERROR: rtmp server requested close

I encountered this error using my own script, but also using youtube-dl.
The error has been reported to me by another user too.

I believe Canal+ simply activated some security so that dumping straight from stream address can't be achieved.
Here I join a dump of the requests/responses to the first linked webpage while playing the movie (1px GIFs, and big suspicious-looking GET requests) in the hope that someone finds a way to patch the current Canal+ downloader.

That's already fixed in b075d25. Just wait for a new release of youtube-dl. Thanks for the report.

Type youtube-dl -U to update to youtube-dl 2014.04.21 or newer, which include this fix.
