You are using very old version. Please try to upgrade your youtube-dl with

sudo youtube-dl -U

If it don't work, you probably installed through package manager, remove it and install manually with

sudo wget https://yt-dl.org/downloads/2014.06.26/youtube-dl -O /usr/local/bin/youtube-dl
sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/youtube-dl
