Cannot download geoblocked Comedy Central videos

I'm based in Australia, and so can't download Geoblocked videos from Comedy Central (e.g. The Daily Show, the Colbert Report) -- rtmpdump fails, and youtube-dl gives the following output:

[rtmpdump] 0 bytes
ERROR: rtmpdump exited with code 1

However, providing the Comedy Central website with the following header:

X-Forwarded-For: 12.13.14.15

(or some other US-based IP address in place of 12.13.14.15) causes the video to download properly.

Would it be possible to force this header for Comedy Central videos?

From Germany, the issue does not seem to be geoblocking, but missing functionality in rtmpdump. Indeed, I get the very same error from the US. Are you certain that X-Forwarded-For (which is completely unrelated to rtmpdump) solves the problem?
