Executing this command fails:
youtube-dl -f 140+242 https://www.youtube.com/watch\?v\=pTjS0o-ZIRg

Error:
ERROR: Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?): Operation not permitted

On Mac OSX 10.9 using avconv 10.3

The formats are .m4a for audio and .webm for video. After searching through open issues it seems that multiple people are having problems merging webm videos.

Aac-audio isn't allowed in a webm-container. Only vorbis-audio (and perhaps opus by now). That's why avconv/ffmpeg shows you the error.

Upgrading to libav 11 resolved this issue.

I have avconv 11, and this does not resolve this issue for me. @weedy is correct, aac isn't a valid audio format for a webm container.
