Download just the mp3 file from video #3787

I'm not sure if this is repost, so I apologize if it is. Is there a way to use youtube-dl and just download the mp3 file of the video instead of the video itself?

Most services (including YouTube) do not offer an mp3 file. However, when you pass in -x --audio-format mp3, youtube-dl will be intelligent about what it downloads, and generally download audio only if such a file is available.

I realize they don't offer mp3 files, but I'm sure you can convert the video into mp3 and download that instead of downloading both, so I was looking for an option to just download the mp3 version instead of the video. I was looking through the guide and totally overlooked -x , so thank you for the help!
