I am interested in this too, in fact I'm thinking about implementing InfoExtractor for downloading videos by author - when I have the time of course... In the meantime as a workaround I am simply using search InfoExtractor - you can search for user name in YT and it will display their videos, unfortunately in addition to some other videos (depends on user name). |

It turned out that there already is YoutubeUserIE in youtube-dl, but it didn't work for me. I made some changes and issued a pull request: |

Don't know if this is a bug or unimplemented function, but downloading from a user-channel without a playlist only downloads the video currently shown at the user-page, ignoring all other uploads by that user. Trying to get down all at : http://www.youtube.com/user/JudgeJudyForLife
