In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEBR-C5QaNA, as you can see, there is both audio and video (even if you don't understand the language ;-)).
But when I try to use youtube-dl on it, I get a video without audio. I tried various combinations of "-f" options, including "-f 134+140" to try to merge a separate audio and video, and nothing else - I don't get any audio.

Hi @nyh, this is not enough information, please post the full output you get when you run youtube-dl with the --verbose flag.

Strangely, when I wanted to reproduce this problem on a different machine, the problem did not reproduce, and I did get the audio... I can only reproduce it on one specific machine. It's strange, because I used youtube-dl on this machine many times before, without problems.

Here is the output, for example, of youtube-dl --verbose -f mp4 "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEBR-C5QaNA" on the first machine, where I always get an mp4 without audio:

$ youtube-dl --verbose -f mp4 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEBR-C5QaNA'

What program/version do you use to play the video? Can you confirm that you have the codecs required to decode AAC? Have you tried other players? Have you tried playing the video on a different machine?
It would seem that it is an issue with the audio playback of your player, as the format you've downloaded in the example contains both audio and video, so it's not a merging issue with ffmpeg. And I do get sound in that video.

I confirmed that if I send the sound-less video to the second machine (where youtube-dl gets me a video with sound), no sound is heard there too. So it doesn't look like a problem playing the video.

However, since even I can't reproduce this problem on a second machine, this is not a very useful bug report.... I'll close this bug, and if I have more information on how it can be reproduced I'll open a new bug. Sorry for wasting your time :-(
