Hi,

I am downloading sports-1m dataset with youtubedl, which has over 1 million youtube video. However, I am out of request limit easily. I am informed to create a developer key with developer account. However, I don't know how to use the developer key in youtubedl.

Any one has any idea on it?

Bests!

Since I do not have a developer account myself, I am unable to add support for downloading with one. For YouTube, youtube-dl mostly uses only public interfaces that do not require any secret keys.

I am closing this issue since I do not see a way for us to add this feature.
If you are willing to provide a secret key to the youtube-dl developers, please say so and we will reopen this issue!
Of course, you are more than welcome to contribute or pay someone to contribute support for downloading YouTube videos with a developer key.

Hi, Phihag,

Thanks for your reply. But could you provideo some information of document on how you formulate the url to downloading the Youtube video. As far as I under from the Youtube develop webpage, to use the develop key, you only need to insert it with some tag into the url.

Bests!
