Could there be a flag for ignoring videos that exceed a specified file size? I know some sites http headers might not always work with this, but it would still be useful for videos where it does.

Basically I want to download a batch list file of youtube videos but skip files >20mb

Thank you

The option --max-filesize will work (it was added in #646):

youtube-dl '1ltcDfZMA3U' --max-filesize 5m
[youtube] Setting language
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Downloading video webpage
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Downloading video info webpage
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Extracting video information
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Encrypted signatures detected.
[info] Video description metadata as JSON to: Maps - It Will Find You-1ltcDfZMA3U.mp4.info.json
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Downloading thumbnail ...
[youtube] 1ltcDfZMA3U: Writing thumbnail to: Maps - It Will Find You-1ltcDfZMA3U.jpg
[download] Resuming download at byte 8554610
[download] File is larger than max-filesize (11942112 bytes > 5242880 bytes). Aborting.
