RTMP streams issue - downloaded mp4 video not in playable format #5559

Hi, I am trying to download a video from cnet and it is downloading but in a format that can be played by the video player. I tried with other sites that may have their videos in streaming and it gives me the same issue. Both videos are in fact flv rather than mp4. Either your player can't handle wrong file extensions or it can't play flv files. For the former reason, use '%(ext)s' to let youtube-dl use the correct file extension. For example:

youtube-dl -v -o "/media/b2671aaa-75b3-4086-b7f1-e9f5091bd10b.%(ext)s" "http://www.cbssports.com/video/player/nfl/436270147586/0/boomer-and-carton-2015-nfl-draft-on-thursdaysaturday"

For the latter reason, you can convert the video to mp4 with --recode-video. You need ffmpeg or avconv for using this option.
