Unable to get 480p videos when I ask for them

I am getting an error trying to get stuff from crunchyroll.

However, if I remove the -f 'bestvideo[height<=480]', then it works:

The files that are obtained are 480p.
Yet asking for [height<=480] fails; removing the height works.

What am I doing wrong? This same clause works on YouTube and other sites.

Thanks for the report, the height and width are being extracted now and 'best[height<=480]' will work in the next version. bestvideo only selects formats that doesn't have audio (mainly YouTube DASH formats), so it doesn't work in most sites.
