Hello,

I use --extract-audio --audio-format mp3 --audio-quality 0 and 9 but the bitrate remains at 256 for both files. Why is this?

Thanks,
Daniel

Which URL are you testing? Post both commands with full verbose logs.

Thanks for the detailed information. Currently only MP3 format supports different audio qualities. Try the following commands:

youtube-dl 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgWpYLh0zNM' --extract-audio --audio-quality 0 -v --audio-format mp3
youtube-dl 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgWpYLh0zNM' --extract-audio --audio-quality 9 -v --audio-format mp3

@yan12125 I tried that and it made no difference. Bitrate remained the same.

The first command gives me a 251kbps MP3 while the second one, 80kbps. Could you paste the full verbose log of running these two commands?
